The NIHR Public Health Research programme will be launched in the Autumn of 2008. The first call for proposals will be in mid-November, and they will welcome both outline and full proposals on this occasion. The NIHR Public Health Research (PHR) programme will evaluate public health interventions: specifically, it will provide new knowledge on the benefits, costs, acceptability and wider impacts of non-NHS interventions intended to improve the health of the public and reduce inequalities in health.
